Created and presented by Twinkl PD’s Anna Edwards, this course centred around boosting parental engagement will share strategies to enable you to develop effective working partnerships with parents and carers, to support their engagement and involvement in school life.

You will discover the theory behind the importance of parental engagement on pupil progress and techniques, to help engage with hard-to-reach families. You'll learn how to break down common barriers to parental engagement and explore how to utilise a tailored approach, based on individual needs and circumstances, to enable all families to positively engage with school life.

Anna has been working in education for the last 12 years, in a variety of roles. She has worked across London, in a range of different positions and settings, including as an assistant headteacher in one of the largest federations in the capital. Anna now splits her time between writing for Twinkl, class teaching and consulting for a charity, which specialises in parental engagement with school. Parental engagement, alongside curriculum and behaviour, are of particular interest to Anna. In her spare time, Anna is the mother of two young boys and enjoys long walks with her dog.
